The animals

Goats
We have two goats, Meg and Billy. Meg is a bit of an escape artist and often takes herself off for short trips into the local village. However, she likes to be home for supper as she can not resist a delicious snack of apples.

Sheep
Lambie is our very friendly sheep. She was hand reared at Clementsmount. She thinks she is human and just another member of our family. We hope she will be having a lamb of her own in the spring.

“The best bit was lambie the sheep because she let me pet her and feed her grass.”
(Jack, aged five)

Cows and calves
We have quite a few cows and calves on our farm. It is a suckler herd, which means that the calves stay with their mum and she feeds them milk until they are grown up enough to eat grass.

Ponies
We have two ponies on our farm. Chico is the small bay miniature Shetland pony and his friend Dolly-mixture is a beautiful white pony. Dolly will be happy to give you a ride around the farm.

Rabbits & Guinea pigs
Our rabbits and guinea pigs just love being petted and fed pieces of apple. They are as cute and cuddly as you can imagine.

Chinchilla
Snowdrop and Taz are Chinchillas. Chinchillas come from the Andes Mountains in South America where their very dense, soft fur keeps them warm in the bitter cold weather.

Ducks and Hens
We have lots of ducks and hens at Clementsmount. You will see them waddling and pecking their way all around the farm. They love being fed breadcrumbs and corn. Sometimes they supply us with lovely fresh eggs for our breakfast.

Cats
Tibs the cat knows she owns the whole farm but kindly put up with her human family being there, as long as they keep the tasty snacks coming.

Dogs
We do not have a dog on the farm but you will often see Ben who visits us every day. He likes nothing better than a good long scratch behind the ears.

Wild animals
If you are lucky you may also see some of the wild rabbits, birds, squirrels, bats and foxes that live on or near our farm.
